"Ear, Nose,Thtoat Check up"

About: Bridgwater Community Hospital

Few days ago before my partners nose surgery, we had emergency call regarding heavy blooding. We went to Bridgwater Comunity Hospital to check a nose and throat to know if this is normal to have a heavy blooding for 30 min non stop anyway,we went to reception to book an appointment for Doctor.

After 2h waiting in a que, even tho my partner lost a lot blood, we were expected to see a Doctor rather then nurse, I new that nurse is not qualified enough to know what was the problem.

Nurse refused as to take a look at the patient , they didn’t even checked ears, nose, throat, they said that can not help as after waiting for 2h in ques just for nothing??? This is very poor service, I would not recommend this Bridgwater hospital for anybody who has health problems. After my experience.

Thank you for your comments about one of our Minor Injury Units. I am very sorry to hear about the issues faced when visiting. However, so you are aware, all of our Minor Injury Units are staffed by qualified emergency nurse practitioners (ENPs) and not doctors. We would like to look into this for you and ascertain what happened on this occasion, and make contact with the staff involved in this incident. We would encourage your partner to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) by emailing pals@sompar.nhs.uk or calling 01278 432022

With kind regards

The PALS team
