Just had Fybroid Embolisation. Spent one night on Ward 1. Such caring and efficient staff right from arrival to discharge.
I was scared, especially as I'd looked up the procedure and recovery on Youtube. I was even petrified of a catheter being inserted.
Once admitted, the nursing and theatre teams made me relax. The catheter being inserted was easily done; no discomfort and no loss of dignity.
By the time I got to theatre I agreed to have sedation. It seemed like 5 minutes later that the doctor was telling me it was all done.
I did have stomach sickness following the procedure, whilst I took Morphine but I never felt alone as the Ward Staff kept checking on me and responding to me.
I recommend wearing ear-plugs to get a night's sleep. It was quiet but the nurses have to do their checks on patients and I'm a light sleeper.
I slept really well.
I woke up feeling great this morning. Still no pain. I even enjoyed a lovely breakfast and lunch before returning home. My compliments to the Chef and all the staff involved. Marvellous experience!
