"A&E"

About: East Surrey Hospital

My 89 yr old mother visited A&E on Tuesday 7th November, following a fall from a local bus. She was delighted by the care and attention she received from all the staff. She was in for some 6 hrs, but had a thorough investigation and ended up with an OT assessment at 8pm, who provided equipment to take home and onward referrals to physio, OT and the Red Cross.

My mother would like to particularly thank two nurses - as well as the OT who's name she cannot remember.

Thank you for feeding back your mothers positive experience. The team in ED function as a multi-disciplinary unit and absolutely recognise the importance of working in a cohesive way; using all disciplines to ensure we have a comprehensive assessment of our patients.

I hope that your mother is making a good recovery.

kind regards

Nicola Shopland

Divisional Chief Nurse Medicine
