Have only just found this website to make a review.
My daughters requirements over the last 9 months has confirmed my thoughts that the surgery is totally disorganised.
She recently woken up with a rash a day before an interview, she rightly went to the pharmacy for advice they directed her to the surgery.
Having arrived and explaining the situation she was told no emergency appointments were available that morning but to go back in the afternoon.
She did so explaining to the receptionist the issue to be told she had to telephone in.
She promptly went outside sat in the car, telephoned, to be told you need to visit in order for the triage nurse to see - staff need to be trained in the correct procedures to save wasting everyone’s time and frustration.
Having been a patient at the practice for over 20 years, the service from the front of house team is getting worse they are rude and condescending. Even when I get called chasing me for a blood test, I am never asked is it convenient to talk etc they launch in and I feel like I’m a naughty child being caught out by the headteacher by the end of the conversation. Thankfully I don’t visit the surgery very often, as I am in good health, however when I do call either in person or on the phone,I am obviously concerned as something is not right and as such don’t feel the need to be questioned as if under police caution, especially in front of a waiting room full of people.
It can be off putting and degrading resulting in people not attending when needed and then things get worse as such puts a bigger drain on resources.
I appreciate funding is tight as it is for all areas of the public sector, but it does not excuse the fact that patients need to be treated politely and sympathetically, after all there are enough notices in the surgery about staff being treated in that manner and politeness does not cost anything.
