"Uncooperative and blocking my care"

About: Downing Street Group Practice

I am anaemic and below normal for Vitamin D levels. I have already explained I've been on Vitamin D supplements for years, and yet my level is still below normal range. The surgery's attitude is that Vitamin D will return to normal in the summer. Farcical! I have to wear SPF 50 according to a dermatologist and my levels have not improved with regular supplements. This runs in the family, I've explained this. Blocked, blocked, blocked. No supplements needed according to this surgery. My mum had over a year long battle to get Vitamin D supplements. I don't want to nor should have to operate at a subnormal level. The Vitamin D council has publicised its frustration at refusal of GPs to help patients maintain normal healthy levels of Vitamin D, unlike the rest of Europe! Anyway, it's a hormone and why should women have to suffer with more hormone imbalances than absolutely necessary? I am a student and I want to be at optimum health.
