About: Alexandra Hospital

What I liked

After a road traffic accident in April 2010 I spent the first 8 days in ICU,having one to one nursing care, and was kept heavily sedated. I then spent a further 3 weeks in ward 17, and have only praise for all staff, from Consultants to cleaners. Even the food was palatable, and cannot fault anyone.

What could be improved

When I returned at the end of September for my knee arthroscopy surgery, I asked for a regional anaesthetic, but was refused., In recovery afterwards, I could not get my breath, and believed at the time I had a panic attack, but now believe that the anaesthetist had not let the muscle relaxer wear off.

Anything else?

All Praise to my surgeon for a good job done

Thank you for your kind comments, and we are very pleased to hear about your positive experience; please accept our apologies for the extended delay in this acknowledgement. I was sorry to read that you had problems relating to your anaesthetic; while I appreciate that this was now a number of years ago, please contact our Patient Services Department at PatientServices.Dept@Worcsacute.nhs.uk if you would like for us to arrange for you to talk to someone about this.
