What I liked
I was ammited 14/11/2010 to ward 14. when waiting to be taken into threatre thre was a delay due to the fault on the gas pipes.I was speaking to the aneatertist, he asked about my health my alegeries, it i told him i was allegeric to asprin and morphine and he said yes its on your notes.
Then he asked me how it came about, i explained that i had a bladder repair in Newark hospital. I said that after the operation my blood presure dropped so much so that they sent for a doctor from queens. He knew him and had worked there.you can see the story i had given him information all ready taken at pre op stage and was clearly on my notes.
After suggery my i started to get ill with blood pressure dropping dramically.
During course next 18 hours i was given liquid pain killer. at 6.30am the nuse came with pain killer and said here is your morphine. I said what my notes clearly state morphine not too be give. Reply was the anthestist prescibe it for you, although yes your notes say no.
We will stop giving it to you. When i was discharged the doctor she said have you any questions i sad yes why was i given morphine and no doctor or nurse questioning the antheatist. Reply yes it shows it hear on your notes, but if your blood pressure dropped any lower we would have investigated it. I said had i not stop it what could have happened. Reply was well your ok now. I will never return for an operation when clearly, it didnt matter what the notes say only what they want to do.
What could be improved
