"Awful post natal care experiences "

I had my baby in the Southern General hospital last year. The care before my baby was great, the scanning appointment, the staff at daycare, the maternity physios, the parent craft classes were all great. The midwives in the labour suite were also fantastic. That is where the praise ends I'm afraid - the after care I experienced was non-existent!

Any time I did see a midwife I got the impression they were uncaring and too busy! There was also and incident where I ended up in tears and no-one appeared to care. I seemed to get off lightly however compared to the poor girl opposite me who, in my opinion, was completely bullied into breast feeding. I was discharged with very little information. They ruined my new baby experience.

Since having my baby and attending several mother and baby groups, sadly my experience does not seem to confined just to me. All I hear is stories after stories of poor after care and power driven midwives.
