"Excellent care received at Salisbury..."

About: Salisbury District Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted via A/E to Whiteparish and then Tisbury (CCU) ward on 30th November. I was extremely impressed with the care I received from ALL the staff in A/E, Whiteparish ward and CCU. All the staff were extremely busy and hard working but still had time for their patients, to listen to problems, give explanations etc., and showed kindness, compassion, sensitivity and, where appropriate, humour. The environment generally seemed very clean and in good condition and the food was tasty with a very good menu choice. I'm afraid, despite my best efforts to be cheerful, I was a rather grumpy and tearful patient at times, due to awful headaches caused by my medication and low mood at having to be in hospital - to the poor nurses in CCU who bore the brunt of my weepiness and grumpy moments (you know who you are!) - my deepest apologies and many thanks for trying to allleviate things. Having had to stay in hospital, however, I really don't think I could have been in a better one than Salisbury - nor could I have been in better or safer hands. The headaches have now gone and so, therefore, has the grumpiness! Thank you all so very very much for all your expert care and kindness.

What could be improved

Just a minor thing. I got a bit lost on the way out by following the "Way Out" signs and ended up coming out somewhere at the back of the hospital. Could the main entrance be signed as well please?

Anything else?

I really believe that Salisbury Hospital is excellent. Everybody clearly works very hard to set and maintain extremely high standards - the comparison between Salisbury Hospital and another one I usually attend is just unbelievable - Salisbury stands head and shoulders above them in every respect. You have every right to feel extremely proud of your hospital, your staff and the care that is given there. Thank you all very much and keep up the good work.
