Today my partner and I attended the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital maternity unit for our 20 week scan. We were met with two sonographers- one was a trainee (Kezia) and one was very experienced (Aileen). I wanted to pass on how well the trainee did. She was professional, knowledgeable and very friendly and checked everything thoroughly. This is my 3rd child and was my favourite scan experience. She talked my partner and I through each stage of the scan, telling us what she was going to do next. The fully qualified sonographer was also extremely friendly and made the scan an enjoyable experience. I hope this feedback gets back to the trainee and her supervisor as she deserves to know how at ease she made us feel.

Our Sonographers are highly skilled professionals and sharing their skills, knowledge and experience with trainee Sonographers is an important element of their role and I thank you for acknowledging that this in no way detracted from the excellent care you received. They also appreciate that scans are an important but anxious time for parents so it is good to hear that Kezia and Aileen put you and your partner at ease and helped to make it a very positive experience.

Our Chief Midwife will pass on your feedback to the team and to Kezia and Aileen in particular. I know they will appreciate receiving such positive feedback.
