I am a secretary working at Macclesfield District General Hospital.
I have worked here for nearly 10 years and in almost every department including A&E.
I know how hard everyone here works to help patients and keep the hospital running smoothly.
On Monday night my father was rushed into Macclesfield A&E having collapsed.
He was barely conscious in the Ambulance from Buxton to Macclesfield.
The staff in the A&E at Macclesfield saw him immediately and he was sent for a scan.
It was quickly realised that something was very wrong and they liaised with Wythenshawe hospital who had operated on him a week previously.
The outcome was that he was rushed to Wythensawe hospital for emergency surgery with little hope of survival.
His emergency aortic aneurysm repair was performed by a Vascular Surgeon and team.
the odds weren't great but they managed to save his life against all the odds.
I am so grateful for the care my father received both here at Macclesfield and at Wythenshawe hospital.
I am so proud of our doctors and nurses here, at Wythenshawe and in the NHS as a whole.
They give 100% and much much more to help patients and save lives.
I am eternally grateful to the Team and A&E Macclesfield, the amazing ambulance service, the A&E at Wythenshawe and special thanks to the surgeon and the team who performed the life-saving surgery.
Massive massive thanks to everyone involved for my dad's amazing and excellent care.
