Had heart attack in my sleep at 1 .00 in the morning in Sunderland . My wife did CPR to keep the blood flowing .
999 then Ambulance call centre and crew were simply wonderful and gave instuctions to wife as she kept me alive . saved by CPR for 10 minutes while the call centre talked through on the mobile phone . Then I woke up three days later in the Freeman Hospital with no idea why I was there but the NHS delivered what I can only describe as a fantastic service in every single area and patient treatment . all the staff were just wonderful and I got through Intensive care and discharged a week later into the NHS rehab programme . All in all it made me proud to be british as this is one example of the fine world class establishment we have .
This is a case of and an example of CPR being given to save my life . All this incident came with no warning or previous heart problems . Well done the Freeman Hospital without you I would now be part of the "Northern Lights Display" Up above. Thanks to all the staff and you should be proud of the job you all do for everyone else.
