I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January which unfortunately spread to my lymph nodes. My treatment from start to present has been incredible. The womens unit saw me within the week of my gp's referal, they explained every step of the process (almost a full day of scans / biopsy and discussions) I left with a contact number that I could call with any questions no matter how big or small.
The Macmillian unit is warm and welcoming from the wonderful reception through to the chemo suite. The nursing team are like family once you start your treatment and I actually had a laugh throughout my chemotheraphy!
My stay for surgery was absolutely fine, kept up to date with everything.. The only thing I will say is I had to stay over night and noted a slight issue, I feel a sign system should be in place for staff to highlight patients who may suffer from lymphoedema.
I am still under the care of the hospital and am very happy thus far so thank you to all involved in my care.
