My son was first seen over 8 weeks ago by a member of staff after a referral from his doctor. The member of staff was extremely worried about his mental health and referred him immediately as a crisis case.
Our first appointment was within a week so initially impressed and were told that he would be referred to a pyschiatrist. This person was to phone the following monday or tuesday at the latest. On thursday i phoned for an update as my son was now exyremely upset and agitated, especially as due to his ASD if someone tells him they will do something then he has the implicite belief that they will do so! However after an apology i was told that he would get a letter with an appointment within the week.....two weeks later i rang again only to be told that 'he was on the list' and we would hear soon. It is now over 8 weeks later and i went into the clinic today to find out what is happening only to be told that his case was being referred back to his family doctor to give him some advice!!! If tbis is what they do for someone in crisis god help those who just have minor mental health issues. Im absolutely disgusted
"What do you have to do yo get an appointment?"
