I was in A&E on Saturday 4th November with an ear infection. The Staff were really nice and treated me well.
I was told my ear had perforated and should get an appointment with an ENT specialist this week.
I had no phone call, so I called the appointments line yesterday. They hadn't had my details so put me through to ENT. They said they'd call me back once their colleague turned up. No call. I called back and they said the main appointments line had my details from A&E now. I spoke to them and they said as it's an urgent appointment they'd contact me soon to arrange the appointment. They said to call back today at lunch time if I had heard nothing.
I called back today, and they said that it hadn't been put through as an urgent appointment and that I'd get an appointment through at some point but as it's not urgent (which is within 2 weeks) I don't need to call back and to see my GP.
I've just seen my GP and they're saying my ear hasn't perforated.
I don't know who to believe, or what advice to take and I'm pretty upset right now. I can't hear at all out of my ear, the fluid is still there and I'm in agony!
"A&E staff great, poor after care!"
