"Health need not being addressed"

About: Lothian Community Services

(as a relative),

I am the relative of a person who was referred to the Howden Family Planning service 8 weeks ago by her GP and, despite numerous attempts to progress this, treatment has still not been arranged far less taken place.  The GP said it would take a maximum of 6 weeks to hear and since this time elapsed all attempts to illicit information or get guidance have been in vain.

The GP practice confirmed the referral was made successfully and the issue was with this service. However many attempted phone calls and successfully answered but unsatisfactory phone calls  later, she is still no further forward.
The final straw was yesterday when, on missing a call (because she was working) but calling the number back almost immediately, received an abrupt and rude response telling her she couldn't phone the number as it didn't accept incoming calls (!) and the call was ended with no time to respond.

In the meantime a health need is not being addressed with negative implications for physical and emotional wellbeing.
