I have recently completed the 13 week STEPPS course run by health in mind. I was extremely skeptical on the first week, sitting in a room with 10 strangers about to embark on a very personal journey. The staff were always so polite and ready to listen and give help and advice. After a few sessions, the group was in full swing and everyone started to open up and share their experiences. I would be lying if I said it was easy and I'm miraculously free of mental health issues but I can honestly say that i am in a better place now than I have ever been. You get out of the course what you give in. I gave my all and it has now payed off. You just have to push through your boundaries and barriers because it is so worth it in the end. The Eastbourne staff at STEPPS were incredible and I cant' thank them enough. Also it goes without saying that the rest of the group members deserve a congratulations and a thank yout oo because they make you realise that you are not alone and they are a big part of your recovery. If you are ever in doubt, just try. I kept asking myself "what's the worst that can happen" and I only good positive results because i took that leap of faith!!
