What I liked
I felt I was treated very well in the Breast Unit. The staff prove that there is excellent training in sympathy, efficiency and tact.
What could be improved
It came as a shock when treated in the main hospital after the Breast Unit. Of course one has to take into consideration the vast numbers attending the Outpatients. Blood teast were a nightmare, also waiting for medicines. The night staff when I was in hospital for the operation were awful. Patients were neglected when they needed bedpans, one patient's bag had burst and the attitude of the main nurse or sister was very unsympathetic bearing in mind they were elderly patients who had just had an operation. I was not offered snything to eat after my operation so if I had not been warned by a previous patient and my visitors had not brought in a sandwich I could not have eaten for 36 hours.
I must empathise the day staff were great. Also the Radiography department were friendly and efficient. Generally I felt that the poor staff are snowed under and have a difficult job.
"Some parts excellent, some parts not."
