"What wonderful service!!!"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

My partner, who has Parkinson's and Dementia, fell ill last Saturday afternoon and was very frightened .

She appeared to be having a panic attack.

I checked her blood pressure and pulse and was very concerned at a pulse reading of 44. I dialed the 111 service and spoke to a member of staff, who was extremely competent and caring. The member of staff arranged for us to see the Badger doctor at Good Hope within an hour.

We were seen by a Dr who spent at least 45 minutes going very thoroughly through my partner's history and symptoms before arranging for her to be immediately transferred to the AMU.

Again we had only a short wait before being seen by the triage team who again were very thorough and caring, although being very busy. We finally had a likely verdict from a doctor, and were allowed home.

A very stressful few hours but what a brilliiant service! Thank you so much.

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments, regarding your partner’s treatment in the Badger Clinic and AMU at Good Hope Hospital.

It is lovely to read such positive comments, as I appreciate it would have been a very worrying time for you and your partner.

I am pleased that you felt that the care your partner received from the staff in the Badger Clinic and the staff in AMU at Good Hope was brilliant.

I shall forward your posting to the Senior Management team for AMU and ask that it is shared with the staff, as I am sure they will be delighted to read your comments.

In addition, I will forward your posting the Badger Clinic, so they are aware of your positive experience.

I do hope that your partner is recovering well, following her admission.

Best wishes

Jenny Langham

Patient Services Officer
