"Rude and unhelpful outpatients service"

About: Watford General Hospital / Gynaecology

I have been under the outpatients Colposcopy clinic for about 18months. In general I found the service average - some healthcare professionals being more helpful and friendly than others.

I unfortunately had to cancel an appointment the day before and was unable to rebook at that time due to work commitments and impending holidays in the next 6 weeks. I was told quite abruptly that they would have no choice but to close my account down in this instance. When I said that isn't very helpful I was told that there's nothing that could be done about that. The person that I was speaking with interrupted me when I spoke and sounded highly exasperated with my confusion about this matter. In the end I stated that I did not find what they had been saying very helpful and that they were appealing a little hostile on the phone - to which they hung up on me.

As an NHS nurse myself I am appalled by this interaction and I am deeply disappointed that people are simply wiped off the books for good when they are unable to rebook at the exact time of cancelling an appointment.
