"Kind receptionists"

About: Beacon Health Group

It is quite impossible to get through to get your blood test results. I called three days in a row in the allotted time and was unable to get through. Therefore I had to go to the surgery to check whether my results were ready. The receptionists at Mountbatten are always very nice, in particular one receptionist. The receptionist has been very kind and patient in the past and was happy to print off my results for me. I can’t imagine it’s easy to work there but the receptionist never seems to get flustered or patronising with anyone.

I’ve been to the doctors a lot in the last couple of months due to post op wound care and the receptionist has always been very helpful when I’ve asked questions. There is another receptionist who is also very kind. The healthcare assistant and nurses are nice but I do not think they are experts at looking after wounds by any means. They were very haphazard at times and could not agree on what dressings I should have (even though the hospital said aquasel.) The community nurses who I saw on the weekends were far more knowledgeable, perhaps because they see these sorts of wounds more often. The practice Manager will probably comment on this post and say I should have spoken/written to them, but I already wrote a letter concerning miscommunication over a missed appointment (which was the surgery’s fault) and never had a response.

In general, the doctors Who I have seen here in recent months have been understanding and given good advice.

One doctor wrongly diagnosed my skin condition when I first had problems with it, however, the doctor isn’t a dermatologist. The doctor did refer me to hospital which helped, but the doctor should perhaps have not been so rash in saying it looked like I had warts. When I saw a dermatologist they said this was completely not true and was quite shocked that my GP had made this sweeping statement.
