"Bad migraine"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / NHS 111 South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Out-of-hours general practice

(as the patient),

I had a bad migraine and sickness for 2 days. I rang 111 as the pain in my head was unbearable and I couldn't keep any medication or water down.

The call operator was very sympathetic and professional and said someone would call me back within 2 hours. It was quicker than that and  I was offered an appointment at an emergency care centre but was unable to attend. The lady agreed and said a Dr would call back. A very nice Dr.Evans called me back and arranged a home visit for me. She was very kind and understanding.

A lovely man from SWASFT called Matt arrived a little later, checked me over and gave me some anti sickness pills and some painkillers.

From start to finish the treatment received was first class, professional and reassuring.

I felt really awful calling them out but at no time was I made to feel guilty or that I had wasted their time.

Thank you all!

Dear Football 33,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story and I hope you are recovering well.

It is always rewarding to hear stories of how our staff are delivering care and support to patients and those around them when they need it most.

We would be happy to share your story with the ambulance staff involved in your care, however, to do so we will need some specific information. If you would like us to do this, please may I ask you to contact us on either plaudits@swast.nhs.uk or 01392 453 831 and a member of the Patient Engagement Team will be happy to help you further.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

Kind regards,

Sharifa
