"Summer visit 2017"

About: Greasby Group Practice

When contacting my local GP, I was told to come to the centre as soon as possible for a required urine sample. I previously explained to the member of staff on the phone I had finished a recent course of antibiotics and felt they had not worked with recurring symptoms and required a different antibiotic or second opinion. I had left work on my lunch break to come to the GP to find the door open.

When I entered I was met with a very rude receptionist who seemed irate and frustrated at the fact the door was left open for visitors, when they intended the door to be locked for their lunch break. I told the member of staff the reason for my visit and what was discussed on the phone, to which their reply was I didn't need to come to do a urine sample as it would be "pointless and not give a clear diagnostic result" due to me taking other antibiotics I had been prescribed from the walk in centre, at the main hospital. I felt the receptionist was rude and spoke to me with irritation and lack of patience, I was in a lot of abdominal pain and I felt humiliated. I also left my work in order to take the urine test in the hope I could get my problem sorted quicker, however I was met with an impatient and frustrated receptionist and was given conflicting advice.
