"Wonderful ambulance crew in Bristol"

About: Emergency ambulance service (Avon)

(as a relative),

While visiting Bristol back in July, my father was nearly knocked down by car while on a pedestrian crossing. He jumped to avoid the car and fell heavily on his side.

A very kind member of the public (who almost got a parking ticket when he had stopped to help) rang 999. The ambulance service (Great Western) sent a paramedic who dealt with my father in a kind and professional way. It was so reassuring - for me and my father - to have such wonderful help at hand.

It is important for us to know what the public think about the care we provide, so thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience of using our service. I am sorry that your father was injured whilst trying to cross the road and am pleased that the paramedic who attended to his injuries was able to offer you both the comfort and reassurance you required. I will pass on your comments to the members of staff involved and I hope that following treatment you were both well enough to enjoy the rest of your visit to Bristol.
