"breakfast club at ashley house"

About: Ashley House / Substance Misuse Service

(as the patient),

I went to the breakfast club for the first time today and was made to feel very welcome. I did not know anyone there but was made to feel like I had known them for years.

Its a good thing to have for the drug unit but they need to be able to do hot food as this is more inviting like a nice warm bacon butty or fry up.

I think this would bring more service users in I would also like to help out if and when you do hot food.

I will be using the breakfast club again and will be telling my friends to use it to

Thanks for taking the time to write this posting. The breakfast club has only recently been set up by our service user group and already we have recieved several positive coments about it.

If you want to get involved with helping the club you should speak to the members when it is held on a Friday morning .It might also be useful to you if you also discussed with the member of staff you see in Ashley House who co-ordinates your care what else is available for you to get more involved in other activities that are on offer ,such as the lifestyles service or volunteering.

In regards to the food available we are limited to the type of cooking equipment allowed in the building due to Health & Safety requirements however the club do intend to soon start using a microwave oven so that some hot food can be made available.
