What I liked
The nurses were caring and friendly.
What could be improved
The medical staff didn't communicate: "Oh, nobody told me". The wards were understaffed: "There's supposed to be two of us on today". Some of the nurses couldn't operate the equipment properly. There was no continuity of care - every day there was a new set of nurses so they had no idea whether patients were improving or deteriorating. The consultant didn't keep family members informed and implemented an Integrated Care Pathway without informing next of kin. The consultant didn't find out the ultimate cause of death and didn't request a post-mortem which might have taught how to treat similar patients better in future.
Anything else?
Visitor parking is diabolical. At certain times of the day it's impossible to find a space and when a relative is deteriorating and you've driven a long way and you want to be with them it's unwanted hassle and expense.
"Not a dignified and respectful..."
