"District nurses need to park at Dewsbury health centre"

About: Kirklees PCT / District nursing

(as the patient),

District nurses are a godsend..particularly Dewsbury West and East Teams at Dewsbury health centre

I'm appalled to hear that they are now going to be locked out of the health centre carpark! because from 1 dec exit will be via a pincode which is not being given to them. Health centre docs, staff and visiting reps and patients are going to be allowed but these nurses are the mainstay of the doc surgeries there. I depend on these nurses for my treatment at the health centre, what am I and other patients going to do if the nurse fails to find a parking spot outside of their work place? I think this is ludicrous. So im in two minds now to tell my doctor i will not be visiting the HC for my treatment..

Come on be fair to these nurses, no pay rise this year, cuts in jobs and now you expect them to pay parking charges for what might be a five minute visit to the surgery.

These nurses have to have access to the Health centre to see doctors, to go the pharmacy..I think I as the patient, all you others out there the patients under their care could suffer as a result of this.

I think the biggest culprits for parking, as I come every day to the car park, are the people who use the spaces to park up and go shopping in town. Target these, better still put a warden during surgery hours.. nurses are genuine parkers here, they go in for the sake of patients and treatment.

The government are targetting our public sector workers, Kirklees Council, dont you go doing the same thing.

Dispicable if you ask me
