"Secretarial staff hang up on you"

About: Central Middlesex Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

I was calling the hospital to inquire about my mothers pending knee operation. The person who answered the phone took my mothers details and then, without saying a word put me through to another person who then hung up on me. I was very respectful asking for information so the least I would expect is for them to say sorry we can't help you - not hang up. This should not be allowed, the staff should be caring and understanding, after all they are working at a hospital! We feel very disappointed by this treatment.
