The Churchill and The JR have now saved my life at least twice. The latest occasion was following serious complications caused by a perforated bladder and subsequent shutdown of my kidneys.
I had three different admissions and the nurses, doctors and consultants were outstanding and professional on each occasion (props too for the out of hours doctor for recognising incipient sepsis a couple of weeks after the initial stay and getting me admitted to A&E immediately).
All the staff have my deepest gratitude for their absolute commitment in often very difficult circumstances. I have no idea how they do what they do, day in, day out.
Other points:
I thought the food was actually not too bad - certainly more than adequate.
Very good wards and facilities.
The multi-level gardens were a really nice touch.
It's a teaching hospital, so always let the rookies have a go at stuff even if it is a bit painful at times - one day they may save your life or someone close to you.
TLDR: I love the NHS and in particular the OUH Trust.
"Awesome hospital/OUH Trust"
