I was admitted to ARU 5 with acute abdominal pain earlier this year. The care I received while there was second to none.
From the lovely domestic who cleaned my room, the porters who took me for scans, to the the nursing staff in the ward, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I've no doubt the nurses were very busy, but nothing ever seemed too much trouble.
It turned out all my health problems were being caused by coeliac disease, and again, the staff were wonderful dealing with the new dietary restrictions this diagnosis suddenly imposed. The catering staff went out of their way to find things for me to eat while waiting for more gluten-free food to be delivered. I was then very impressed with the gluten-free options which were provided.
As a nurse myself, I know how challenging it is to provide top-notch care in today's very busy service. I would like to thank all the staff of ARU 5 for caring for me so well.
"Excellent care in acute receiving unit"
