"Gallstone surgery (keyhole)"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

Recently after months of issues my mother has been informed that the cause of her problem could be a gallstone which has been found blocking a duct.

She has elected this hospital for the surgery only to have rang and been informed that she must wait at least 18 weeks to be seen.

Bed ridden, unable to eat properly and in much pain there is no way she can wait another 5 months and therefore must go elsewhere to find what we hope to be a hospital with a much shorter waiting time to relieve the pain and discomfort she is in which is disabling her at present.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience of our hospital. If you have not already done so, I would be very grateful if you would contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS). They will be able to investigate your issue and offer support. PALS can be contacted via the telephone on 01782 767351 or via email to patientadvice.uhnm@nhs.net.

With best wishes
