"Nothing to ease my pain when my wife..."

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

What I liked

Nothing to ease my pain when my wife died after the failure to operate on her, she died in extreme pain after 18 days. full of morphine so that I could NOT say goodbye after 50 years. I was patted on the hand moments after she died and was told there there, you are surrounded by a loving family. We sometimes miss these things. I am still racked by the pain of loss.

What could be improved

Perhaps if the surgeon listened to his patients when they complain their tummys hurt, and not just dismissed it as a woman complaining, and looked further and found the burst tummy wall. Don't tell me you had to wait until her blood thickened. At a famous hospital in the north they would I have discoverd the would have changed her blood for the life saving operation.

Anything else?

I now have little or no faith in doctors, they all appear to be journeymen. managed by non medical bureaucratize. Such a shame that the service has degenerated so over the last decade.
