"Booking an appointment"

About: Clayhill Medical Practice

I tried today to make two appointments - I managed to get one with a locum for my ear infection and I tried to make one to see the nurse as I had been told I needed to be monitored for my Hypertension. The receptionist wouldn't book my appointment with nurse and would not book me a double appointment with the gp!

The receptionist ended the call before I had finished trying to explain why I needed to see the nurse - I feel the duty of care is very lacking in my surgery.

I am sorry that you had a problem with calling today, our Reception Staff work very hard to ensure that patients get the appointments they need.

However I have spoken to the Reception Staff about your call and I understand you do need to see the GP for two issues. Normally we would book you a double appointment to give you sufficient time but as your GP is absent and there is a locum in their place we are temporarily unable to offer a double appointment.

I believe that this was explained to you.

I understand that you were given an appointment for one of your issues and I believe you were advised that you could book a second appointment when you came in.

Further to your need for a Nurse- I am so sorry that the call was cut off, we had a temporary issue with the line-we can appreciate how frustrating this is and please call us and book in for the Nurse as soon as you can- unfortunately I cannot contact you via this response.
