What could be improved

I was referred to the Diabetes Department in August 2010; as we had not heard anything in October my medical centre contacted the hospital who said there was a move going on but that the referral was with the department. In November, I still have heard nothing so my GP has sent in another referral linked to the original. I note your targets of 18 weeks from when referred (when apparently the clock starts) to appointment, I would be happy to get an acknowledgement in that time-frame. I accept that sometimes things go wrong but a letter to give you a date in the future for the appointment is less worrying that feeling you are being ignored.
