Camden iCope (IAPT) Psychological Therapies & Wellbeing Service are terrible. Whenever you contact them they either don't respond or they just shut the door in your face in a cold and unfriendly manner.
There is a reason why, with services like in iCope which are willing to generally do nothing for people, the Borough of Camden is repeatedly shown in studies to have among the highest rates of mental health illnesses in the country.
One of my main reasons I have been feeling low in recent years is because I get treated like absolute dirt by the likes of iCope. They have done absolutely nothing for me in years. Instead of investing so much taxpayers’ money into advertising their services on the underground and elsewhere to boost their egos, they would do well to actually bother to do something for someone.
I have been through their farce many times where iCope do nothing and ask me to go to my GP, who then tells me to contact iCope, and so it goes round and round.
I have seen many cases in the "Camden New Journal" over the years where people are treated terribly as I am and then, after they have committed suicide, the likes of iCope issue a statement that they will “have another look at how they handle referrals”.
Still, if it keeps iCope staff in well-paid jobs to spend their days batting people away without doing anything for them, then good for them.
