We have been registered with Old Harlow Health for about 50 years and seen a variety of doctors and nurses in that time. Also changes of venue. Throughout, the surgery seems to have provided the sort of service expected, perhaps it's in the genes. This good, even excellent service , really starts with the reception staff, who are always polite and helpful - the occasional "off day" we can overlook, after all we are all human and I know patients have off days often! The appointment booking system works well and if one calls at 08.30 one can usually obtain an appointment for the same day due to the practice of keeping a few appointments free during any day.
As this is a training surgery we do get a good variety of trainee doctors through the year and somehow they seem to latch on to the 'surgery genes' at least those I have met have. The long established doctors are all very well respected, although I have heard of one who can be a bit short. We have 2 particular favourites who we usually see and we rarely have any difficulty booking with them. Over the years they have got to know us well, something that is important in maintaining continuity of health care.
We also have team of excellent nurses skilled in all manner of procedures, and with the equipment to go with those skills. They too are always pleasant and patient with us patients!
We are now able to seek repeat prescriptions on line, which is a great advantage, and with the surgery close to the prescribing chemist, extremely convenient.
Over all I find it almost impossible to fault Old Harlow Health, and if other surgeries are below standard perhaps a look at the OHH gene pool might help.
