"I came to the hospital as I was..."

What I liked
I came to the hospital as I was experiencing severe back pain that was hardly bearable and I could hardly walk. I needed more painkillers and an advice on my current condition. The doctor at the Outpatient's listened to me carefully, examined me carefully, made a call to a orthopedic and advised me to see my GP the next day as both herself and the orthopedic she called agreed I would need further treatment and examination of my spine. She gave me medications to treat the pain and warned me of possible complications and symptoms that I might get, that would need urgent medical attention. So I was more than pleased with the way I was treated and the information I was given.
What could be improved
This is not necessarily something that depends on Lister hospital, it maybe a procedure that is applied in all hospitals in the country. However I found it unnecessary that I had to see my GP again next day and explain it all over just in order to be referred to an orthopedic for an examination. Not only that I was still very much in pain and found it very hard to get to my Health center, but I also took more of your time and basically, I cost NHS even more without any need. It would be much easier for everyone I think, if the doctor from Outpatients could refer me to a specialist, or if it could be sorted in any other way that would avoid my second visit to another GP. I could no more help at the moment anyway, I already had the painkillers, so I basically needed a specialist to assess me further.
I am very happy with the NHS medical care in general and this is more my way to try and help with my feedback. I think the overall organization is great, but there will always be those small bits that can be improved and I think it's on patients to draw attention to such things.
