What I liked

From referral through admission,surgery and followup I received excellent care and was very impressed by the commitment and dedication of every member of staff I encountered at Warwick Hospital.Morale is very high which indicates a well run hospital where Staff well-being matters and hence the patients benefit.Every one on the staff was patient,kind and helpful and provided expert care. It seemed to me as though the 'extra mile' was the norm in every dept.The Consultant and his team made time in their demanding schedules to explain all aspects of the treatment and their skill and expertise instilled confidence in their patients, as too did the nursing staff,who in the midst of often hectic busy-ness,responded cheerfully to the demands placed on them both day and night.The medical secretaries skillfully made one feel that you were the only patient they had to deal with and sorted out every query efficiently,courteously and with kindness.The bed co-ordinators made me feel that arranging my admission for my convenience was their prime concern and the very harried switchboard staff were always friendly and very willing to help, whatever one's query.The care I received was excellent and made me feel confident and relaxed throughout the whole experience.

I have been an in- and out patient of various hospitals over the years and have experienced treatment ranging through excellent, very good,indifferent and frankly poor and, having worked for 28 years in the NHS, I know something of the huge stress levels felt daily by hospital staff-these days more than ever.I have never,however,come across such consistently high levels of care and commitment from every member of staff from all departments on every visit to or communication with the hospital, as I did in the months of my treatment at Warwick Hospital.It is a flagship for the NHS in the UK and worthy of a very high place on any performance table of health care in this country.

What could be improved

I do not think the excellent care I received could have been improved in any way..
