When a person comes to the A&E after a horse fall, with suspected head injury (memory loss)and suspected broken fingers/arm (it wasn't the case as we find out 3 hours later), one would expect to be treated much faster than it has been the case for my daughter. Although the staff mentioned that they were very busy and I do not think it was; giving priority to patients that arrived after my daughter with minor injuries (carpet burns and small leg wounds) over possible head trauma (it was not the case but we found out more than 3 hours later with a head scan) is not what I was expecting. I had to clean my daughter's cut finges when we did get home later, I provided my daughter with an hospital blanket (I knew where it was as my daughter was put against the linen cupboard)and not offered one. Pain killers were given to my daughter more than 2 hours and 45 minutes after her arrival in A&E. My daughter started losing her patience as she had been shocked by the fall and found the whole process very unfair, and the person who dealt with the situation was very accommodating and understanding, from that moment more attention was brought to my daughter... It was 16:09 when we arrived and it was 20:30 when we left. The experience was stressing for all of us and I do not wish it to anyone.
