"My experience at Tameside General Hospital"

Having visited my doctor at the Tameside General Hospital, I received my appointment a week later at the breast clinic.

I knew it would be an all day appointment so I went prepared. I arrived at exactly 9:15am, after 20 minutes, i was called and waited a good hour to go into the examination room to see a doctor. Again, I waited a 10 minutes, undressed on the table before the doctor finally appeared.

The doctor was very friendly and gave me a through examination. He recommended a scan so I was sent downstairs for the scan and had to wait 45 minutes. After the scan I went back to the clinic. It was then lunch time so I had to wait another hour before going back to collect my scan results. I eventually got the all clear at 5:00pm

Best Bits?

All staff were friendly and attentive. They even offered snacks for the patients that had still been waiting from morning to mid afternoon.

Worst Bits?

The waiting but I did come away with my results so there was no prolonged worry.

Tameside hospital has had very bad press in the past. I have however, visited the hospital on four occasions for breast lumps and have always had good treatment by friendly doctors and nurses in that area of the hospital.
