"I went for my 12 week scan at this..."

About: Salford Royal

What I liked

I went for my 12 week scan at this hospital and felt let down as I didn't get to have my scan until 30 mins after my appointment (not good when you have to have a full bladder), when i did get in the room the lady left to get my notes an another lady walked into my room without knocking, realised she had the wrong room and left no apology. When i did have my scan i was not informed about anything she was doing or even if my baby was ok, the lady doing the scan didn't turn the screen round so i could see my baby an everytime i sat up to have a look she shouted at me to lie back.

When i went back for my 20 week scan everything was different although i still didnt get in at my appointment time, the lady kept me very well informed reassured me with any questions that i had kept turning the screen so I could have a look at my baby and she let me go toilet half way through the scan as i was so desperate. My second experience was so much better that i now feel more confident having my baby there later this year.

What could be improved

Waiting times especially as you have to have a full bladder for the scan.

I am pleased to read that you had a positive experience at your recent appointment and the improvement you have described compared to your earlier visit. Your comments have been forwarded to the senior staff in the Women's & Children's Department.
