This was the first time I have been in hospital because things got so bad for me and I felt I would end up killing myself if I wasn't locked away. I didn't really know what to expect and was sent to this Priory because my NHS hospital didn't have any beds. I live in Nottingham so was sent away from my friends and family which I found really hard at times but the staff called my local team to tell try get me moved closer to home everyday.
I did think at first the hospital could give me psychology and stuff but they were honest with me from the first day that they didn't want to start something that would just stop when I moved back home. I wish they could have done this but can't say thats there fault and it makes sense.
We did groups with the psychologists what were really good. Other stuff like cooking and going bowling broke up the day but not sure how that helped me.
I found it hard to make friends as people went quick and new people were always coming in. The nurses always seemed to have loads of paperwork to do but the nurse at nights found time to talk to me all the time and the HCAs were always there to talk to. They have a board with all the staffs photos which I found helpful when I first came in as staff don't have uniforms.
"Wish this hospital was closer to me"
