I had a phobia of this procedure and had weeks of worry having seen some scary internet reviews. when I attended my 'pre procedure' assessment' I told them of my fears and was then treated in the most wonderful reassuring way, spoken to with great kindness and even introduced a member of the theater team who made me feel normal to be anxious, explaining that everybody is nervous just like me but they would be there on the day to support me
So the big day arrived! But on my arrival felt calmer than I could have expected weeks before due to the support I received from the team
My treatment throughout was outstanding with every staff member treating me with kindness and professionalism. To be honestI had feared I would be on an 'NHS conveyor belt' but the opposite was my experience and everything about it made me feel I was in a high class private clinic.
My procedure went fine - not on my 'bucket list' of wishes of course yes it was a bit uncomfortable but bearable and nothing like the handful of internet horror stories I had seen and when I undergo the procedure again in 3 years time I will happily go back to Blakelands hospital but next time with no fear.
Thanks to all of you from a very impressed NHS patient
