I recently had a hysterectomy at the hospital. Prior to admission my treatment was clearly explained, I was actively involved in the decision and leaflets were provided which also explained what would happen. The admission process was smooth. All staff introduced themselves. The only criticism was that I hadn’t realised there would be no contact with my possessions once I had put them in the box. I would have like to have contacted my partner to say when the operation would take place. The waiting room could have been warmer, However I was given a blanket. Perhaps a small television to ease nerves could have been provided. The anaesthetists were cheerful and made me feel comfortable . The operation went well no problem at all.
Ward 9 was clean, the staff were friendly and efficient. They were very helpful when someone rang to ask how I was.
They responded quickly to anyone pressing the bell and my progress was constantly monitored. Food was basic. I was lucky because I am mobile but help was given to patients who were less able. A comfortable, efficient, professional and friendly stay.
"No complaints"
