"My daughter was hospitalised in the..."

About: Ipswich Hospital

What I liked

My daughter was hospitalised in the special baby care unit for 2.5 weeks after being born 7 weeks premature. During that time she was treated with the utmost of fastidious nursing care... the staff of this unit have my full respect and admiration.

The nurses were caring and thorough 24/7, they were supportive and helpful to anxious parents. At a stressful time when hormones are all over the place the cheerful/jovial encouragement from the nursery nurses was much appreciated. I was also suprised at the facilities available - I was given a room for several days on the unit to allow me to establish breast feeding before my baby was discharged. The head nurse even found time to give me 1:1 tuition in infant CPR before we left

The cleaning staff were amazingly efficient ... I have never seen such a clean and hygeinic ward.

I cannot praise Ipswich hospital enough, I have had both my babies there plus follow-up physiotherapy after my first daughters birth and was impressed every time.
