"Trip to A and E"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

Staff could not have been more kind and helpful. It was very busy and my only issue was that I felt very exposed in the waiting area with children running around where I was immobilised with a suspected broken ankle. Once I was eventually seen (I appreciate the time problems of any emergency department at that time of night), I was treated with kindness, respect and sympathy. Would have liked some pain relief earlier but -again- I appreciate how busy you were and I wasn't the only fracture that evening.

Thank you for taking the time to post this valuable feedback, and I am sorry to hear that you required our services, with a suspected fractured ankle. I am pleased to read you were treated by kind and helpful staff.

I have shared your feedback with the team, to review your comment regarding the waiting area and you feeling exposed with the injury, so they consider if there are any changes they can make to ensure that patients feel comfortable whilst waiting.
