About: Hillingdon Hospital

What I liked

From the moment I arrived at A&E, I was treated with first class care. I was initially in Majors Cubicle Area of A&E, but within 20 minutes of arriving at A&E, I was seen by a senior Nurse who then called a doctor to see me. The Doctor took one look at me and could clearly see how unwell I was and how much pain I was in and immediately transferred me to the Resuscitation Room. I was given IV Medications & Fluids etc. and sent for x-rays that confirmed my diagnoses and was then referred to the surgical team.

Although I was in the Resuscitation Room for nearly 6 hours (I was too unstable to be moved to a ward hence is why I was kept in the resuscitation room for that length of time), I was eventually transferred to Hayes Ward once my condition improved. I can honestly say that from the moment I arrived on Hayes Ward, the Staff their were excellent. I was kept in for 2 weeks and during that time I recieved excellent, first class treatment.

I want to say a huge thank you to the A&E staff, all the staff on Hayes Ward, and an extra special thank you to the General Surgeon, looking after my care and to the excellent team.

What could be improved

The only thing that could be improved was the food!!!

Anything else?

Ovearall I have recieved excellent professional care and treatment from Staff at Hillingdon Hospital. I shall definately recommend this hospital to friends and family.

Dear Sir/Madam

We were delighted to know that you had such a positive experience when you were a patient here at the Trust. We've passed your comments on to the staff in A&E and to the Hayes team. We have been working hard to improve the quality of our food, with the Matrons taking a key role in working with our ward based House Keepers on this. It's something we are watching closely as we want to give the best possible care - and we know that hospital food is a key part of this.

Thank you very much indeed for posting your thoughts on our health care service on line and for saying that you would recommend us to people that you are close to.

Marie Batey

Director of the Patient Experience and Nursing

The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust
