"recovering from stroke"

About: Specialist Therapy Services / Community Stroke Team – South Notts

(as a service user),

I had a stroke and I couldn't do anything, I couldn't walk or talk or look after myself. I came home and I had someone to come and wash me and I had a bed downstairs and I needed a toilet thing next to my bed. I hated that thing.

Then Margaret and Kate and Emma came - brilliant. At the start I couldn't say anything and then I wanted to go to the pub but I felt hemmed in because I couldn't talk so I didn't see my friends. But now I'm driving and looking after the family and I've been to Ibiza with my friends.
