I fell into a severe depression, it was a relapse but it was deeper then I'd ever been in before. I felt lost and hopeless. I got in touch with Lets Talk as I'd previously used the service but lost contact.

I felt like I was starting again, but this has probably helped me in the long run. I felt that whatever had happened before was irrelevant now. I was skeptical about CBT but when a clinician spoke to me about it, it took my barriers down, the initial session was very good. Laurence referred me on but I lost contact, however when I felt the need to re-refer the notes was all on my records which I found very helpful, it made it feel seamless and I was able to start CBT, it didn't feel as big as a bridge to cross.

When I started my sessions I had trust and faith that I had been well assessed, I came with an open mind and my guard down. Although depressed, I was ready and wanted something. I found all the sessions helpful; in the past when I've had therapy I've not been able to face all sessions, but the flexibility of the Lets talk appointments have enabled me to attend every session. Emma has given me the bones/ guideline and structure to help, and I have learnt to improvise and I feel I have been pro active in doing something. This has helped it fit in with my whole life picture; previously I've felt other therapy, medication and my spiritual practice have been at odds, whereas CBT has brought it all together. 

Therapy has helped me to integrate my whole life into my process of healing. I feel things now fit. This course of therapy has helped everything to drop into place, I can make sense of my own story and given me a basis. I'm not going away feeling incomplete or hidden, the sections of my life are no longer hidden from each other, I now feel at peace.
