This is the best GP Practice that I have ever been registered with. Although there can be a wait of several weeks for a non-urgent appointment, this is envitable in order to keep sufficient slots available for urgent appointments. This approach makes complete sense in terms of prioritising medical issues which require rapid attention.

During the 18 months that I have been registered here, I have had several health issues requiring urgent appointments, and I have always been able to see a GP on the same day. I have found all of the Doctors (including Locums), Nurses and Reception staff to be professional, polite, friendly, and supportive of my needs as a patient.

The Practice always appears to be very clean and has a pleasant waiting room. The touch screen for registering patient arrival is quick and easy to use. In a semi-private area of the waiting room there is a computer terminal at which you can complete various questionnaires to submit health and lifestyle information to the Practice if you wish. Linked to this is a machine which measures blood pressure and heart rate. You simply insert your arm and press a button. This is not a substitute for seeing a GP of course, but is a useful means of checking blood pressure in-between appointments if you have any concerns. You can choose whether or not to submit the results to the Practice.

Appointments are confirmed by text which I personally find very useful. Reminders are also sent by text, ensuring that I have never missed an appointment.

The adjoining Pharmacy is very convenient and my medication has always been available. The car park is immediately next to the Practice and spaces have always been available whenever I have had an appointment.

It saddens me to see some of the negative reviews for this Practice given that my experiences have been so positive. At some previous GP Practices it has felt like a battle to get a same-day appointment after waking up feeling unwell. I am thankful that I have never had this issue at Shadwell Lane Medical Centre. I am appreciative of this Practice, and of the staff who have always provided me with excellent patient care. Many thanks.
